Darryll's personal venture into the world of wines comes as no surprise to many. An ex-stockbroker for 23 years, he was exposed to a selection of fine wines when he first came to Singapore in 1989.
A self-confessed oenophile, he decided after having left the finance sector, and during his sabatical to pursue his dream and extend his hobby further. Before starting off in the wine sector, he was and is still an ardent wine buyer, and has an extensive wine collection of his own to enjoy/trade.
As a result of his passion, Darryll decided it was the next career path to take. In the year 2000, he joined a team of friends and set up a subsidiary wine company as a partner and left when the company merged back with its main group.
Subsequently, his unyielding ardour for wines took charge and he eventually set up his own company, J & D Burleigh in 2005.

Josephine's motto was simple - 'If you cannot beat 'em, join 'em.' After much time on listening to endless talks about wines at dinner parties, and not wanting to be left out of it, she decided to take on the challenge and immersed herself in the wine world.
Brought on board in 2000 by Darryll and his friends in his initial wine venture, Josephine started off as an Operations Manager in the wine industry. Thereafter, when he took his sabatical, she decided to pursue her newfound interest and join two other wine companies with a strong focus in Italian wines, handling Communications & Marketing and Sales respectively. When the last company folded, she then decided to join forces with Darryll in the start-up of their own wine business.
Josephine continues to further her knowledge of wines, moving onto other countries/regions. In 2009, she started up the WOW Club (Women Only Wine Club), and conducts wine dinners/tastings on a quarterly basis, and sometimes with women winemakers present.

Quentin hails from Avignon, Rhone. Growing up in the wine region, it is without doubt, that his love for the land and wines was instilled in him at a young age.
At the age of 20, he went to London and set his name in stone in the wine industry. Over a 6 year period, he worked for London wine merchants, and also for St James Hotel by Sofitel under the tutelage of Chef Albert Roux, and also, with Richard Shepherd for Langan's. During that time, he furthered his thirst for wine knowledge by enrolling himself in WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) in Westminster, and is today, a member of the Masters of Wines Programme.
In 2007, Quentin saw the potential of the growing wine trend and markets in the Far East and set off for Singapore, and joined J & D Burleigh. He started off as a Sales Manager and over the years, built-up a strong portfolio of clients for himself and the Company and continued to expand on the growth of its wine portfolio.
Always accepting challenges and pushing himself to various successive levels, he excels in both performance and wine strategies. Today, he is the Head of Sales and oversees numerous on-trade accounts and is working on the development of the export business within the Company.

Susan first embarked in her wine journey in 2002. She started out with one of the top wine establishments in Singapore, specializing and retaining focus primarily on Bordeaux wines.
In 2009, she started her own company with her sister, and dealt mainly with organic wines from France. She subsequently folded her company and decided to keep her focus in what she's best at - Bordeaux wines.
In the spring of 2010, Susan joined J & D Burleigh, and her knowledge and expertise on Bordeaux wines is a great asset to the Company. She has since extended her wine knowledge to other parts of France (Burgundy & Rhone), and also, that of Italy. Her interest in wines continues to grow, and with her charming personality and invaluable knowledge in what she does, she plays an important role in the handling of many of the Company's top and high networth clients.
 Beatrice Benard

Originating from Reunion Island, a French Overseas Department located in the Indian Ocean near Mauritius and Madagascar, Beatrice has been working in the wines and spirits industry for 8 years.
She first arrived in Singapore in 2008 where she worked for 2 years for a Company specialized in Whiskies and Spirits from all over the world, Scotland, Japan, Ireland, USA, Canada, India, Australia and more.
She then headed as Restaurant Manager of a French Bistrot in Chinatown but decided to return to her first passion and has recently joined our team as a sales executive with a strong focus and expertise on Whiskies and Spirits.
